The Tri-County News and www.iwantthenews.com is on site of the 2019 WIAA State Boys Division 2 Swimming and Diving Championships from the University of Wisconsin Natatorium in Madison.
A record number of area athletes are competing today.
Here is a preview of today’s action.


We begin with diving at 2:30 pm where Kiel junior Charlie Tanouye makes his debut on the boards.
Tanouye took ninth at Ashwaubenon, but 13 of the 16 divers at state are coming from the Ashwaubenon Sectional. The top six in each event at state earn medals. Tanouye is the number ten seed.
Swimming finals are at 6:30 pm tonight. Here is the list of area swimmers:

200 yard medley relay- Brillion/Valders/Chilton team of Bo Geiger, Parker Sonnabend, Isaac Koehler and David Suttner. They are the number five seed.
200 yard freestyle- Kiel’s Mason Steffen is seeded 14th.
200 yard individual medley- BVC’s Parker Sonnabend has the three seed.
50 yard freestyle- Ashton Arnold of Kiel is seeded 12th .
100 yard butterfly- BVC’s Bo Geiger is the 14th seed.
100 yard freestyle- Has 2 Kiel entrants. Christopher Muhs is the seven seed and Ashton Arnold is the number 11 seed.
500 yard freestyle- No area entrants
200 yard freestyle- Kiel’s team of Ashton Arnold, Christopher Muhs, Mason Steffen and Charlie Tanouye are seeded fifth. BVC’s foursome of Bo Geiger, Parker Sonnabend, Isaac Koehler and David Suttner are the seven seed.
100 yard backstroke- Mason Steffen of Kiel is seeded number 7.
100 yard breaststroke- Parker Sonnabend of BVC is the three seed.
400 yard freestyle relay- Kiel’s team of Ashton Arnold, Christopher Muhs, Mason Steffen and Charlie Tanouye are seeded fifth. BVC’s team of Garrett Braun, David Suttner, Isaac Koehler and Bo Geiger are the 15th seed.
