The Kiel Area School District is changing its school day schedule for this Thursday and Friday to allow students and staff to travel to Madison to watch the Kiel High football team compete for the state championship.
The Raiders will be playing at Camp Randall Stadium starting at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 21.
School District Administrator Brad Ebert said school will be closing at 1 p.m. on Thursday so that all who are attending the game can make it there safely and timely.
Also, the KASD will be having a late start on Friday, Nov. 22 so that fans and students are able to make it back and get some rest prior to coming to school. School will begin at 10 a.m. on Friday.
On Thursday, afternoon 4K classes will be cancelled. On Friday, morning 4K classes will be cancelled.
Full Circle Care will continue with its normal schedule both days.
The district will be sending a bus or buses that will be free of charge to fans because community businesses have agreed to pay for all the busing. “We will be sending as many student and community buses as needed,” Ebert said. “If you want to ride the bus on Thursday, please sign up with Mr. Walsh at the high school office.”
Pre-sale tickets for the game are still available at Kiel High School on Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Wednesday from 8 to 10 a.m. Tickets are $10 for adults/students/children. Tickets are $12 at the gate. $1 kids tickets (6 and under) will be available at the gate only.
The community fan bus(es) will depart from Amerequip at 4 p.m. Students will need to be accompanied by an adult.
A student fan bus will depart from Kiel High School at 4 p.m. For either bus, please sign up at Kiel High School until noon on Wednesday.
Please sign up for the fan bus at Kiel High School during the same times that tickets are being sold.
