Kiel vs. Campbellsport
Waukesha Catholic Memorial vs. Wisconsin Lutheran

CHAMPIONSHIP (8 PM)
The two 6 pm winners

The championship team advances to the WIAA Division 2 State Team Tournament at the UW Fieldhouse in Madison on Saturday March 2. Check back here to www.iwantthenews.com for the most live updates from North Fondy tonight. We'll have match-by-match scores for you:

HOW DID THEY GET HERE?
All four teams won their respective regional team titles. Kiel won the North Fond du Lac Regional; Campbellsport won the Sheboygan Falls Regional; Wisconsin Lutheran won the East Troy Regional; Waukesha Catholic Memorial won their own regional.

PRIOR TEAM STATE HISTORY:
Kiel is making their second trip to a WIAA Team Sectional. The only other time was in 2001 at Jefferson when they beat Whitewater, 36-28, in a semifinal and East Troy, 37-26, in the championship. At state, Kiel lost to Ellsworth, 37-17. Current Raider assistant coach Buddy Kienbaum wrestled on that Kiel team.
Campbellsport has been to Team State eight different times, but have never won a state title. Their last trip to Team State was in 2011. Wisconsin Lutheran has two previous Team State appearances, in 2015 and 2016, while Waukesha Catholic Memorial has never been to Team State.

WHO WRESTLES TONIGHT?

The WIAA Division 2 Team Sectional is separate from the upcoming Individual Sectional in Campbellsport. The entire teams wrestle tonight regardless if they have qualified for Individual Sectional. The Individual Sectional is for those wrestlers who finished first or second last Saturday at the regional.
It is wrestled just like a regular season dual match. Athletes weigh-in around 5 pm and then a draw takes place that determines which weight class wrestles first. Then we have 14 matches in each dual.

KIEL VS. CAMPBELLSPORT:

The Raiders and Cougars are former conference members as Campbellsport competed in the Eastern Wisconsin Conference until realignment sent them to the East Central Conference after 2014. Kiel is the only Eastern Wisconsin Conference team that is in a WIAA Team Sectional. Campbellsport’s conference opponent, Winneconne, is wrestling at the Brillion Team Sectional tonight.
These two squads had a memorable dual match back in 2001 when the Charlie Lulloff coached Raiders ended Campbellsport’s string of 218 conference dual victories that dated back to 1968. Current Cougar coach Mark Peterson was the coach opposing Lulloff back then and Peterson is set to retire following this season after 31 years in that tradition-rich program, 24 of those as head coach.
This season, Kiel and Campbellsport have been in just one tournament together. That was in the Herb Tyler Invitational at Sheboygan North in January. Only a few Raider-Cougar matchups took place.
Kiel’s Alex Kleinhans pinned Kal Ferguson at 160 pounds. This is a likely rematch tonight. The other two matches had Jeb Sippel of Kiel losing to Matt Koelbl at 195 and Jose Capetillo fell to the Cougars’ Ike Grahl at 138. Those do not look like rematches tonight.
Based on last Saturday’s regional entries, this is a POSSIBLE lineup for tonight. This will likely change during the match and the comparison shows an extremely close match:
