Kiel quarterback Connor Voelker fires a screen pass in a 35-0 EWC win at Manitowoc Roncalli
After a tight first half, the Kiel offense exploded in the second half and the defense held Manitowoc Roncalli in check as the Raiders scored a 35-0 Eastern Wisconsin Conference football win over the Jets Friday night at the newly renovated Ron Rubick Field in Manitowoc.

Special teams played a big role as the Raider kickoff team recovered a pair of pooch kicks in the third quarter, one that resulted in a score.
Quarterback Connor Voelker hit Hunter Scharenbroch on a 46-yard bubble screen with 1:08 left in the second quarter that broke the scoreless tie and gave Kiel a 7-0 halftime lead.
Voelker was 15-20 passing for 190 yards. He also kicked two of the extra points with Savannah Walsdorf nailing the final three PAT’s.
Kiel scored on its first possession of quarter three as Clayton Lepisto rambled in from 13 yards out. Slade Pennings then recovered the ensuing pooch kick off and Kiel was back in business. Mike Endries’ three-yard run made it 21-0 and 24-yard TD run by Alex Kleinhans extended the lead to 28-0 late in the third quarter.
A Voelker-to-Nathan Goehring scoring strike of 19 yards in the final quarter rounded out the scoring as Kiel is now 4-0 overall, 2-0 in the EWC. They are tied with New Holstein and Two Rivers for the lead.
Brillion comes to Kiel next Friday.
