New Holstein High School senior Tyler McCoy is one of five players nominated for the Player of the Week.
A fullback for the Huskies’ football team, McCoy helped New Holstein end Sheboygan Falls’ 22-game Eastern Wisconsin Conference winning streak that dated back to the 2014 season. New Holstein beat the Falcons 22-14 on Friday night at NHHS.
McCoy opened the scoring with a one-yard plunge in the first quarter, and gave the Huskies some breathing room late in the fourth quarter when he took a handoff 65 yards to provide the final score of the game. McCoy finished with 32 carries for a school-record 277 yards and the two scores.
People can vote once per day for the winner of the award by going to Voting is open until Thursday at 4 p.m. As of Monday noon McCoy was in second place in the voting.
