    It’s a true Eastern Wisconsin Conference in 2019 as the Chilton baseball team faces some new teams on the diamond, namely neighborhood rivals New Holstein and Kiel. Coach Dan Criter’s Tigers are very deep and figure to be a title contender.

    The Eastern Wisconsin Conference softball crown returned to Chilton last spring as the Tigers tied Brillion and Valders for the top spot in a season that saw the conference schedule reduced by April snowstorms.
    Chilton has a new coach, but a veteran look, as they take aim at keeping the title.
  • Team wise, 2018 wasn’t the best of seasons for Chilton’s girls track squad. But veteran coach Rocky Gozdziewski just knows how to get his kids through to state. Mariah Moehn was the latest to qualify. Moehn is back and the Tigers look to overcome depth issues again this spring.
  • Chilton Boys Track Preview: Tigers must replace state champ
    The Chilton boys track team has some holes to fill, namely a state champion in Cody Gebhart and another state qualifier in Dominic Steiner, but an eager squad looks forward to those challenges. The Tigers should be strong again in the middle and long distances.

    Jeb Sippel’s dramatic 12-9 win over Kaiden Mikalowsky of Chilton/Hilbert was the clincher as Kiel won its first wrestling regional championship since 2001 holding off the Tigers for honors Saturday in the WIAA Division 2 Regional at North Fond du Lac.
  • Kiel's Tanouye is area's first state swim/dive qualifier
    The WIAA Division 2 Boys Swim finals are today (Saturday, Feb. 9), but diving sectionals were held Friday night and the Tri-County News area already has its first state qualifier.

    With football having their own conferences in 2020, the WIAA and Wisconsin Football Coaches Association have released another realignment plan, likely their final plan, barring appeals.
  • EWC Boys Swimming & Diving: BVC's Sonnabend sets record
    Parker Sonnabend set a new conference record in the 500 yard freestyle as the Brillion/Valders/Chilton boys swim team overcame a whacky week and placed fourth Saturday in the Eastern Wisconsin Conference Championships.
  • Kiel tops Chilton in girls hoops
    Kiel stayed within a game of first place Valders, but their 60-44 Eastern Wisconsin Conference girls basketball home win last Friday night over Chilton did not come easy.
  • Tiger girls hang on to nip Huskies
    Shaelynn Feuerstein sank a three-point field goal for New Holstein with five seconds left, but it only brought the Huskies to within two and they had no time outs remaining as Chilton held off the Huskies for a 51-49 Eastern Wisconsin Conference girls basketball win at Chilton High School.
    It was the only contest in the area last Tuesday that was not postponed by the impending snowstorm.
  • Chilton boys hold off Kiel
    It was a must win for Chilton and they got it, but not without sweating things out.

    It was an uphill battle, but Stockbridge boys basketball snapped a three-game losing streak as they rallied to beat Wausaukee, 55-53, at Stockbridge High School Friday.

    Winning the first six matches, five by pin, Chilton/Hilbert rolled to a convincing 60-21 Eastern Wisconsin Conference wrestling dual win over host New Holstein Thursday night (Jan. 10).

    Things were looking good for the Chilton girls basketball team to get their fourth consecutive victory. Manitowoc Roncalli had other ideas.
  • It was a classic rivalry game between neighbors Friday night in Chilton with New Holstein’s 28-21 victory over the Tigers not getting wrapped up until the final minutes.
