J & J Pickart Dairy, LLC was the site of this year’s Fond du Lac Area Breakfast on the Farm held Sunday, June 26. John and Shirley Pickart own the farm with their son Jeff and his wife Tammy.
Crowds came early to the popular event with lines forming for the country style breakfast offered. While the food is a huge draw for visitors, there were plenty of other fun and educational activities to enjoy throughout the event. Antique tractors, a petting zoo, cheese samples and ice cream sundaes, farm tours, live music, kid’s activities, clowns, and more entertained the masses.
Trams took visitors on tours around the farm and to the milking parlor where they could watch the milking process. KFIZ 1450 AM radio broadcast from the event which was held from 8 a.m. until noon.
The Pickart family milks approximately 625 animals three times daily along with growing 800 acres of corn and alfalfa.
The annual event is sponsored by The Fond du Lac Area Association of Commerce Agri-Business Council.
