Small town American summer festivals—known as “picnics” here in Wisconsin—are in full swing across the land.
Kiel just celebrated their annual event last weekend; New Holstein’s picnic was last month. It seems that every little burg or crossroads has their own block (or bigger) party between Memorial Day and Labor Day. In fact, you can find a celebration within a short drive from home most weekends throughout the summer. In other parts of the country, these get-togethers are known as “homecomings,” “street fairs” or “town carnivals” or “town crushes.”
