If someone is required to be at work by their employer and is showing up and doing the work, they should be compensated in a timely fashion, right?
That is the common sense legislation which Congressman Glenn Grothman is supporting along with some other U.S. representatives as the partial federal government shutdown has now set a new record for being the longest in U.S. history.
As editorialized in this space just a few weeks ago, a short-term partial government shutdown is not the end of the world. Yes, it is a burden for those employees affected, but those people have always received their back pay once the shutdown ends and they will again this time.
