To the editor:
As the final score became evident, the Empire State squad so long stymied in their quest, realized they had finally won.
Their years-long persevering work had finally paid off in a hard-fought victory. It didn’t take long for die-hard fans and participants alike to start a standing ovation, giving high fives, and hugging others as they showed their exuberance. The din was deafening, the relief and excitement overpowering. To share the good news with the state’s largest city, the governor even ordered that the Empire State Building and other landmarks be lit up that night in the color of victory!
