Wisconsin won big on Monday when the Democratic National Committee (DNC) announced that Milwaukee has been selected as the host city for the July 2020 Democratic National Convention.
This is a pretty big deal in a lot of ways, not the least of which is the fact the convention is expected to draw more than 50,000 visitors and have an estimated $200 million impact on the region. Lest people think that benefit will be entirely in the Milwaukee area, there was some buzz already Monday that hotel rooms will be needed in places like Fond du Lac and Sheboygan and that the Fox Cities and Green Bay will reap some rewards as well.
