She was chairperson for the Hospital Holiday Fair, served many offices for the Chilton Eagles Club, and was a member of the Calumet Homemakers and Daughters of Isabella.

She played at Hickory Hills in the Tuesday Women’s League and she joined Harry in the Monday Couple’s League, and she also played league at Crystal Lake. Besides playing, she held various offices for those clubs. When she wasn’t golfing Ellen was always up for a game of Sheepshead with her family and friends.
