Arno A. Miller, 99, of Elkhart Lake passed away Wednesday morning, May 8, 2019 at Harvest Home, Howards Grove.
He was born Oct. 20, 1919 in Kiel, son of the late Edward and Louise (Klein) Miller. Arno served with the Civil Conservation Corps at Woodruff. He then served with the Army Air Corps in World War II as a medic from 1941 to 1945. During his tour he went to England, Africa, and Italy where he met and had a Rosary blessed by the Pope. On June 7, 1947 he married Doreen Feldmann. Arno worked for Stoelting Manufacturing and then Kohler Co. until his retirement. He loved being in the outdoors.
Arno is survived by his wife of almost 72 years, Doreen; his daughters, Judy (Jim) Bastasic of Sheboygan Falls and Joanne (Bill) Arpke of Elkhart Lake; his grandchildren, Jennifer (Drew) Huber, Jeffrey (Ashley) Bastasic, and Brian (Becky) Arpke; his great-grandchildren, Austin and Julianne Huber, Logan Bastasic, and Colton and Cameron Arpke; his brothers, Allen (Jeanette) Miller, Elroy Miller, and Carlos Miller; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ron (Kay) Feldmann, Ole Feldmann, Violet Feldmann, and Berneda (Willy) Wittek; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Leon (Ruth) Miller; his sisters, Rosella (Ralph) Bruckner, Arline (Leo) Schnell, and Marie Miller; and his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Rose Mary Miller, Margene Miller, Leroy Feldmann, Alfred Feldmann, Audrey (Norman) Burkhardt, Junior Feldmann, Inez Mayer (Melvin Mayer), (Harry Breher), Luella (Vic) Theyerl, and Howard Feldmann.
According to Arno’s wishes, a private family service was held.
