  • Despite an increase of 3.73 percent in the 2019 City of Kiel budget, the impact on the local levy for municipal purposes will be a net decrease on this year’s tax bill.
  • Shopping with Santa
    Shopping with Santa was sponsored by the Chilton Public Library Saturday.
  • The Kiel Municipal Band will present its annual Holiday Concert on Saturday, Dec. 1, at 6 p.m., at the Kiel City Hall Second Floor Auditorium. 
  • Flight training now offered at NH Airport
    One-on-one flight instruction classes are now being offered at the New Holstein Municipal Airport by Harley Miskov of Fond du Lac.

  • The 24th Annual Chilton Chamber of Commerce Holiday Parade of Lights is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 1 starting at 5 p.m.
  • Thanksgiving Express
    The Thanksgiving Express tradition continued this year, the 36th year of its existence, as volunteers gathered Thanksgiving morning at the Eagles Club in Chilton to cook, assemble, prep meals for delivery, and clean.
  • Kiel Board of Education members approved a monetary donation to the district at the regular meeting of the board held on Wednesday, Nov. 20.
  • Timm House Christmas opens to public on Friday
    All through the house, it is the “Night Before Christmas” at the New Holstein Historical Society’s Timm House.
  • Town of Stockbridge board members heard from farmers and farm organizations attended the regular meeting of the board held on Wednesday, Nov. 14 to share their thoughts on a proposed town manure ordinance.
  • Bring on Christmas season!
    Holiday spirits were in the air Saturday in downtown Kiel as the annual Kiel Christmas Parade, sponsored by Drexel Building Supply and the Kiel River Walk District, drew crowds to the main street to enjoy the lights and sounds of the Christmas season.
  • Kiel High School will be getting a new athletic field, a new performing arts center, and additional technical education space.
  • City of New Holstein voters rejected a referendum in Tuesday’s election which would have allowed city government to exceed state-imposed tax levy restrictions by $100,000 per year for an unspecified number of years.
  • The Kiel School District referendum is too close to call at this point.
  • Due to an unforeseen challenge at our printing vendor, the delivery of the Tri-County News will be delayed by one day this week, for the distribution of the November 1 issue.

  • The public is invited to play bingo at Homestead Care Center (Atrium), 1712 Monroe St., New Holsein on Wednesday, Oct. 24 starting at 2 p.m.
  • Delivery of the weekly Tempo free paper will be delayed this week due to a printing error with our contract printer.

    Incorrect pages were inadvertently printed by the printer, and Delta Publications is recalling most of the issues that were delivered early Tuesday morning.

    The paper is being reprinted later today, and will be approximately a day late in getting to your homes by carrier or mail service.

    We regret this error and any inconvenience it has caused.
