A report of a suspicious incident which took place Friday, March 1 in Chilton has been resolved.
The report involved a man allegedly pulling over in a vehicle on East Main Street at Spring Street to offer two Chilton Area Catholic School students a ride to school. The students described the man as an older Hispanic male.
The incident was apparently resolved within 24 hours of it happening. It appears the man—who is a native of Albania (Kosovo) and not Hispanic—was simply offering the students a ride to school because wind chills were well below zero that day.
After news about the incident spread via the internet, police were called so that the situation could be explained. The man in question also said he visited CACS this week to explain his intent and that in the future he will not offer to drive children if they are walking to school in inclement weather.
