A fundraiser to help provide necessary equipment for the new athletic complex was recently approved by the Kiel Board of Education.

Jamie Arenz, who serves the district as fifth grade teacher and girls track coach, submitted the request to the board. “This is my 18th year with the girls track program,” Arenz told the board. “We have only fundraised three or four times. We don’t do it often.”
Arenz told the board funding has been cut for sports programs and said he has been able to sustain the track program because no meets were being held at the track in recent years.
