Kiel Area School District voters approved question #1 (exceeding revenue limtis) in Tuesday’s election, but defeated question #2 which would have made upgrades to the athletic fields and constructed a new performing arts center.
In unofficial results provided Tuesday night, voters approved question #1 1,457 to 1,299. City of Kiel voters favored that question 723 to 445, while town of Schleswig voters opposed it 362 to 326. The district will be able to exceed revenue limits by $840,000 per year for 10 years for non-recurring purposes.
The second question asked for $10.4 million to build a new performing arts center and make improvements to the outdoor athletic facilities. Unofficial totals showed 1,433 “no” votes and 1,332 “yes” votes. City of Kiel voters favored question #2 671 to 503, while Schleswig voters cast 388 “no” votes and 304 “yes” votes on question #2.

Chilton mayor
Rick Jaeckels was re-elected mayor of the City of Chilton, earning 386 votes to 179 for challenger Greg Kubichka.

Village of Stockbridge trustee
Elected to trustee positions in the Village of Stockbridge are Marilyn Behnke, 129 votes; Ty A. Bodden, 126; and Tammy Mackai, 99. Finishing fourth was Bruce Rubin with 89 votes.
