••••UPDATE: Chief Funkhouser reported that power was restored at 5:43 p.m.•••• Kiel Police Chief Dave Funkhouser reported at 4:19 p.m. today (Saturday, April 14) that the power is out throughout the city because of the high winds and ice which continue to pound the Midwest.
Funkhouser said the power source from outside the city of Kiel is down. “ATC and WE Energies are working on the problem. We do not have an estimate on when power will be restored,” he said.
Kiel City Hall has been opened as a warming shelter for anyone who needs assistance. If anyone needs a ride to City Hall for the warming shelter, call (920) 797-9792 and the Kiel Fire Department will send someone to provide the ride.

Reports of flickering lights have been received in the city of New Holstein but as of this time no widespread outages have been reported.
