As is usually the case, summer’s temperatures heated up just in time for the New Holstein Firefighter’s Picnic held last Friday through Sunday.

The Wisconsin 9/11 memorial float has been a crowd favorite in local parades in recent years. Members of the New Holstein American Legion carried the colors to kick off the parade as they do every year. People sought out whatever shade they could find to watch the parade. Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, princesses of local organizations, and all sorts of other people made their way up Wisconsin Avenue before turning to spill into Civic Park to close out the three-day picnic. The absence of rain made for a smooth event, including the big fireworks show Saturday night which packed people into the park again.
