Extended family members of Robert and Mary Schwobe gathered for a photo by the Winnebago Eastshore Conservation Club sign during the fundraiser they held Saturday to benefit the Fox Cities Chapter of the Down Syndrome Association of Wisconsin.

Mary and Robert Schwobe’s nine children—along with their families and friends—are building a strong tradition of giving their time to good causes.

During the past two years, many of the extended family members participated in the “Walk to End Alzheimer’s” in Fond du Lac as a way to raise money for Alzheimer’s research, as well as a way to honor their mother who suffered from the disease. Mary and Robert both passed away in 2017.

This year, the siblings decided that their parents would be pleased if they helped out with another cause which is very close to their hearts, so they organized a fundraiser at the Winnebago Eastshore Conservation Club on Hickory Hills Road to benefit the Down Syndrome Association of Wisconsin (DSAW).
