Calumet County VFW Post 3153 will be honoring fallen heroes despite the virus.

The post will be firing at 17 different cemeteries between the hours of 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. on Memorial Day, May 25. Those cemeteries to have rites preformed are St. Augustine Catholic, Portland Cemetery, St. Elizabeth Catholic, German Evangelical Church Cemetery, Brothertown Union Cemetery, Morrill Family Cemetery, and Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery.
Another group of veterans from the post will be going to the following cemeteries—Gravesville Union Cemetery, Hayton Hillside, St. Martin Catholic, Rantoul E.U.B Church Cemetery, Trinity Lutheran in the town of Rantoul, St, Mary Catholic in the town of Woodville, along with St. Peter Lutheran also in the town of Woodville and St. Luke Lutheran Cemetery.
Both groups will meet up at Chilton Hillside /St Mary Catholic Church Cemetery north of Chilton between 10 and 10:15 a.m. for honors after which they will travel to the Chilton Veterans Memorial located at the corner of STH 32/57 and USH 151 (Klinkner Park) and perform honors there, although there will not be any type of service.
Please keep in mind if people plan to attend any of these honors they should maintain social distancing.
