Volunteers spent time last Sunday afternoon setting up 2,977 flags outside the Forest Junction Fire Department—one flag for every person who died in the 9/11 attacks.

The display is lighted at night and will be up through the end of this week. The public is invited to view the display during daytime or nighttime hours and to reflect on the people who lost their lives that day. Organizer Jon Beach said he thanks everyone who assisted with setting up the display. “Every flag matters, every person matters,” Beach said. “Special care is taken with each flag as it is planted in the ground.... Please take a moment to pause and remember.
