The tundra swans are all over this week. It seems every pond in a farm filed held many swans. The most we saw were on the s-curves flooded fields. There were about 400 on Tuesday.
The meadowlarks are singing up a storm. We still find many red-tailed hawks on nests, up to number 15. Annie found a Canadian goose with a numbered neck band near Marytown. When we got home she went on the computer to report the number and sighting to the US Fish & Wildlife, finding it was banded in July 2014 near Justice in Cook County, Illinois. It was a male most likely hatched in 2013. Very interesting!
