The yard around our place up north is strewn with rocks and boulders.
In fact, it looks like the aftermath of a significant flood. The scrubby lawn is gone, thanks to the installation of a new septic system out back and strategic tree removal on the front and sides. At present, it’s all dirt and stones. Huge ones, tiny ones, and every size in between.
When the glaciers moved through those parts long ago, they thoughtfully deposited hundreds—make that thousands—of rocks on our property.
