The Kiel Kiwanis Club is now accepting nominations from the public for its annual Citizen of the Year award.

Nomination forms, which explain the criteria for receiving the award, are available at Kiel’s financial institutions, City Hall, Kiel Public Library, and the office of Delta Publications. Nomination papers should be submitted to Kiel Kiwanis Club, P.O. Box 341, Kiel, WI 53042.
The Kiel Kiwanis Club has sponsored the Citizen of the Year award since 1963. Nominations and the banquet were opened to the public in 2011. The awards banquet is tentatively scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 28 and again will be open to the public.
The nominated citizen can be an individual, a formal organization (profit or nonprofit), or an informal group or organization. The nominee does not have to be a resident of the city but must have had a positive influence on the Kiel area. The award can be based on either lifetime achievements or an individual act of service of importance or impact on the community.
Recent award recipients since nominations were opened to the public have been Rick and Joel Lulloff/Lulloff Hardware, Todd Olig, Linda Bauman, Don Vorpahl/volunteer drivers, Al and Patty Schreiber, Dave Arenz, and Vicki Heimermann.
