The Kiel School District referendum is too close to call at this point.
With the city of Kiel and the towns of Centerville, Liberty, and Herman still oustanding, the vote on question #1 has 1,195 “yes” votes and 1,252 “no” votes. Question #1 is the request to pursue general obligation bonds of up to $3.11 million to construct a new outdoor athletic field.
Question #2—to seek bonds of up to $7 million for a new performing arts center and expansion of the Technical Education area at Kiel High School, stands at 1,200 “yes” votes and 1,238 “no” votes.
The city of Kiel will have a significant number of votes, of course, and in the spring city voters favored a similar referendum.
