The Kiel Municipal Band will present a fall concert entitled “Music Speaks To/Through the Heart” on Friday, November 9 at 7:00 p.m. at the Kiel City Hall Second Floor Auditorium.

The concert will explore how music can speak directly to our inmost heart without using words, by sound alone.
It can stir up emotions and thoughts that transport us to other times and places, and it can present us with new ideas and possibilities as we listen to each piece unfold. There will be a number of meditative hymn and chorale pieces on the program as well as some memorable melodies. Among the selections are the “Finale from Symphony No. 4” by Peter Tchaikovsky and “In the Miller Mood,” a medley of songs from the Glenn Miller Band.
Jonathan Weir will perform a flugelhorn solo with the band.
The concert location at the Kiel City Hall Second Floor Auditorium is handicapped accessible. The concert is family-friendly and open to everyone.

Free will donations at the concert will benefit the KMB/Edgar P. Thiessen Scholarship Fund.
