Kiel’s City Council gave its approval at a November 19 special meeting to the 2020 city budget of $3,084,655, an increase of 4.8 percent from the prior year.

The budget calls for a local tax levy of $1,345,232, a hike of $116,029 or 9.44%
Kiel City Administrator Jamie Aulik, in presenting the proposed budget at the Tuesday hearing, said that Kiel’s growth was key in being able to create a budget that remains fiscally prudent for the community. The increases will be softened by a growing tax base.
