Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Chapter 65 held its annual Christmas party at the Chilton Eagles Club recently.

About 40 guests were on hand to watch four area veterans receive their quilts of valor. Kristine Van Eyck and Linda Pujo, both members of Darting Needles Quilt Guild from the Appleton area, were on hand to do the presentation. Darting Needles Quilt Guild has members who hand make all the quilts that are given to deserving veterans thanking them for their sacrifice to their country. Joe Certo, James Moon, Chuck Bilgo, and Fred Gebhart (left to right) took part in the presentation. Certo, Moon, and Bilgo are all members of DAV Chapter 65 from Calumet County while Gebhart is a member of Calumet County Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 3153. After the presentations dinner was served followed by door prize drawings and social time. Both the DAV and the VFW are always looking for new members. If interested contact Guy Arnold, commander of the DAV, or Richard Schmidt, commander of the VFW.
