Tennis courts in Belitz Park will receive a much-needed resurfacing thanks to a cooperative effort between the City of Kiel and the Kiel Area School District.

Kiel’s City Council gave its approval February 26 to the fine points of a contractual agreement with the Kiel Area Board of Education.
Six of the eight city-owned courts at the Belitz Park will receive the resurfacing upgrade. The courts are used by the Kiel Area Schools for its girls interscholastic tennis program. In recent years, the surfaces have fallen into disrepair causing concern for the safety of the tennis players and the general public that may use the courts.
