Brittany’s School of Dance Ballet Company presented Tchaikovsky’s classic ballet, “The Nutcracker,” and included talent from the Kiel area.

Performances took place at the Stefanie H. Weill Center for the Performing Arts in Sheboygan Dec. 1 and 2. Kiel area dancers included Grace Severson, Elyse Steinhardt, Cameron Steinhardt, Sophia Johnson, and Kailey Williams; and Ella Narance, Abigail Johnson, Claire Radder, Joslyn Rutten, and Lauren Reszczynski. Guest dancer and Kiel native Ramsey Wusterbarth played the role of Prince. The dance company is owned and operated by Kiel native Brittany (Wusterbarth) Thomas, the artistic director of the Nutcracker performance. Harmony Wusterbarth served as assistant director of the performance. This production of “The Nutcracker” featured a Christmas party, a battle between life-size mice and toy soldiers, a journey through the snow into the fantasy land of the Sweets, and was enhanced by its costumes and colorful sets. Brittany’s School of Dance Ballet Company—formerly the Dancescape Ballet Company—was created by Sue Darrow in 1987 starting with small ballets. Credits include “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” “The Wizard of Oz,” “Cinderella,” “The Nutcracker,” and “Beauty & the Beast.” This was the 19th production of the “The Nutcracker” and the sixth production under the direction of Thomas.
