Stockbridge Fire Department Chief Mike Funk recently spoke to the Village of Stockbridge board expressing concerns regarding the use of the Department fire trucks on STH 55 during flooding episodes in the village.

Funk told board members he recently had a meeting on the issue with Calumet County Sheriff Mark Ott, Calumet County Highway Commissioner Brian Glaeser and Calumet County Administrator Todd Romenesko.

“We had another flooding issue here not too long ago,” Funk said, adding although Sheriff’s Department dispatch is contacted, Highway Department workers are not responding, resulting in Stockbridge Fire Department volunteer firemen and trucks left to block the State highway to safeguard travelers.
