For those readers who have followed my journeys to Africa, here is a recap.

“Two countries, one family.” Those were the words spoken by my good friend and Mount Kilimanjaro guide, Honest Minja from Tanzania, East Africa.
In February 2006 I traveled with my PaPa, Richard Buchholz, to Africa to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest mountain, 19,340 feet. Tragedy struck when on the climb, one hour from reaching the summmit, my PaPa died in my arms from a genetic heart disease unknown to us.
Words in the African language of Swahili, “pole-pole,” meaning “go slowly, baby steps” were the first words our guide Honest taught us. These are the words that will be with me the rest of my life!
