Co-directed by Chilton High School vocal music teacher Amy Smejkal and band director Michelle Kochan, this week’s staging of “The Addams Family” in the Engler Center will provide funny, spooky entertainment for all, as twovery different families collide when “princess of darkness” Wednesday Addams falls for straight-laced Lucas Beineke.

In addition to some plays, Smejkal said that she has done a musical every year that she has taught for the past 12 years, and this is her first time directing “The Addams Family.” When choosing a show, Smejkal said, “We (directors) think about our students and shows that we think our community and students will enjoy, and this is just a really popular show right now that’s getting good audience attention.” She noted that this show is actually one of the shows the seniors suggested last year.
