Big Fish draws big audiences
The 2018 Spring Musical performance of Big Fish, drew big crowds to the Castle Theater and Kiel High School. The finale was held April 28, following a postponement by a major April snowstorm. New Holstein American Legion Post 124 and its Auxiliary will be observing Memorial Day with a variety of events and they invite the community to participate. Legion members will be conducting Memorial Day services at area cemeteries as follows: 7 a.m., Charlesburg; 7:30 a.m., Rothman Cemetery in Garnet; 8 a.m., Marytown; 8:30 a.m., St. Anna; 9 a.m., Country View Cemetery, New Holstein; and 9:30 a.m., Holy Rosary Cemetery. The Memorial Day Parade in New Holstein is scheduled to begin at 10:15 a.m. from the parking lot of BMO Harris  Bank on Wisconsin Avenue. It will proceed up the Wisconsin Avenue hill to the City Cemetery where the Memorial Day program will be held. Following the conclusion of the program, New Holstein American Legion Auxiliary Unit #124 will host a Memorial Day ham dinner at the Legion Clubhouse on Wisconsin Avenue from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The dinner is open to the public.

In the event of rain everyone should assemble at Chilton High School, 530 W. Main St., at 9 a.m. All veterans and their families are invited to a luncheon at Chilton City Hall, 42 School St., starting at 11 a.m.

The New Holstein Police Department is sponsoring a bike rodeo from 10 a.m. to noon at CRW Insurance located at 1411 Milwaukee Dr., New Holstein. This event is free, and pre-registration is not required. Parents and adults are welcome. The rodeo will be held rain or shine. Each person who participates in the bike rodeo will receive a free bike helmet. Parents can license their children’s bike for a one-time fee of $5. The rodeo also will include helmet fitting, bicycle inspection/check-up, and safe riding drills.
