In their previous two meetings this season it was a six-point New Holstein win at Valders and a five-point Valders win at New Holstein. So when the Huskies and Vikings met for a third time, and this time on a neutral floor, fans would only expect another white-knuckler.

That’s exactly what they got.
Second-seeded Valders made ten straight free throws in overtime and Devin Schisel’s three-pointer at the final buzzer rimmed out as the Vikings nipped the Huskies in a WIAA Division 3 Boys Basketball Sectional Semifinal before a packed house Thursday night at the Menasha High School Fieldhouse.
Schisel’s bucket with 50 seconds left in regulation sent the game to overtime.
NH led by nine at one time, 46-37, early in the second half before Valders rallied.
The Vikings play undefeated Appleton Xavier on Saturday for the sectional final at Kaukauna and a trip to the state tournament next week in Madison.
More on this game in next week’s Tri-County News.
