    Staff from three area school districts were able to attend a special Universal Design for Learning (UDL) training held on Aug. 28 at Hilbert High School.
    UDL is a research-based set of principles that was created in the early 1990’s to guide the design of learning environments that are accessible and effective for all.
  • A return to normalcy for Fremont?

    Signs were pointing to light at the end of the tunnel Friday for the Fremont Street detour that has boxed in Kiel's downtown for the past month.

     

  • The road construction and utility upgrade project that has had much of central Kiel knotted up in detours this summer has an end in sight.

    The Kiel Police Department reports news that the detour on Fremont Street is expected to be lifted early next week, and that all remaining construction is expected to be conclude by October 16.

  • Three jobs fairs have been scheduled by Manpower for immediate job openings in the Kiel, Hilbert and Plymouth plants. The job fairs will take place Friday, September 22 and Monday, September 25.
  • The Kiel Area Board of Education set the stage Tuesday for designing April referendum questions around two key initiatives. The April questions will center around an ongoing revenue need to exceed levy limits, set at $4000,000 a year. A second portion of the referendum will ask for a maximum of $9.9 million to support two community initiatives for new and improved facilities. Those projects include upgraded athletic facilities being proposed as Raider Nation Renovation and the construction of a new fine arts center/theater being supported by Friends of the Kiel Performing Arts.

    At the end of July, people from Chilton St. Martin Lutheran Church’s Mission Possible drove down to New Orleans, Louisiana to aide in the rebuilding of their community and faith.
