The Kiel Municipal Band will present its spring concert on Saturday, April 22 at 7 p.m. at the New Holstein High School Auditorium.

The title of the concert is “Festivals,” a theme that reflects the spring music festivals in the schools and continues throughout the summer at community concerts and picnics.
The program has a variety of music that one might hear at a festival and moves around the country and the world with contrasting styles of dances and songs.
Taking the “festival” idea literally, the KMB will perform Clifton Williams’ “Symphonic Dance No. 3 – Fiesta.” The piece has a Latin American flavor, with suggestions of street bands, matadors, and bright costumes. Written for the San Antonio Symphony Orchestra and arranged for the concert band by the composer in 1967, it seems to capture the excitement of a festival in old Mexico.
