Now that Kiel’s Lulloff family has made its decision official on the fate of the longtime hardware store in the community, there is only one thing left to say—thank you.
Thank you to the Lulloffs for their many years of being a good corporate citizen in the community. Their store was legendary for having virtually everything anyone could need in the way of hardware and so much more. What they were even better known for was their willingness to go the extra mile to help someone out.
As reported elsewhere in this week’s Tri-County News, the family has made the decision not to rebuild the store which was destroyed by fire last year. They said it was an extremely difficult decision, but they know they have the understanding and support of the community behind them as they move forward.
Anyone who owns or has owned a small business can understand the issues the family faced in making this decision. There are both great joys and great challenges in owning a business.
Now that a decision has been reached, there are also great opportunities ahead for the group which is working to improve Kiel’s downtown. There will be challenges in that effort as well but—like the Lulloffs—hard work by good people will yield success.
